Forrando Paz is an initiative led by “Foropaz”, and is part of a global art project called Inside Out, created by the French urban artist JR in 2011.

In El Salvador, young people who live in communities with high rates of violence are stigmatized. Forrando Paz aims to contribute to the deconstruction of this stigma by making visible a multiplicity of young positive leaders who live in these spaces. Around 130 young people from different areas of El Salvador participated in this project.

With the 130 portraits we will install a public art piece that will occupy more than 150 m2 of the exterior walls of the National Museum of Anthropology Dr. David J. Guzmán. We will also have facilities at the penitentiary centers of Santa Ana Farm, Granja Izalco, Alianza Francesa, Espacio 132 and a community in Ayutuxtepeque. Forcing in total, more than 250 m2.

Foropaz represents the work of Fundación H. De Sola and ConTextos who since 2017 have joined efforts to bring dialogue and conversations about peace to the table.

To gain access to the young leaders population, Foropaz partnered with 5 organizations that work directly with the process of community leadership and empowerment. Our partners are Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Servicio Social Pasionista (SSPAS), Kino Glaz, Glasswing y Fundación para el Desarrollo (FUNDESA)
