Restorative Practices:

Storytelling as Repair

They offer a way for communal connection in the face of conflict. To us, conflict is not a detour, but an invitation—a moment to return to one another with care, context, and courage. Our work supports individuals and communities in sharing their stories and listening deeply to others, building the conditions where trust, relationship, and accountability can take root.

Restorative practices are central to our approach, guiding how we create space for reflection, understanding, and repair.

Stories gain their power when placed in context. For us, text is never separate from experience, history, or place. When educators, leaders, and caregivers are supported with tools to center humanity in their spaces, both young people and adults begin to flourish. We envision a world where stories serve as bridges between people, where context is honored as a source of understanding—not conflict—and where healing is possible, even in complex and shifting conditions.

Since 2010, we have walked alongside communities in moments of hope, grief, growth and uncertainty—always with respect for local wisdom and a commitment to shared learning. Along the way, we have created and co-created spaces that have reached over 76,000 people, trained nearly 3,000 teachers, and supported more than 1,000 families across generations and geographies. These are not simply numbers to us; they reflect relationships. build, perspectives honored, and healing made possible. In 2019, ConTextos received the International Prize from the Library of Congress Literacy Awards, honoring our innovative work in restorative practices and education.

Our consulting philosophy and praxis includes co-design, facilitation, and program development that supports community and institutional resilience. Whether you are hoping to build something new or restore what has been fractured, we would be honored to walk with you. We have seen that becomes possible when stories are held with care and context—and we believe you can, too—on your own terms, in your own time. You are invited to explore what might become possible with ConTextos.
