About Zoila Recinos

Zoila Recinos is a Salvadoran educator committed to education and community strengthening through reading, writing, and identity. She has pursued studies in Central American cultural studies, children’s literature, and the development of social organizations. She is co-founder of ConTextos El Salvador and, since its beginnings, has led teacher training programs, promoted critical thinking, and supported youth and adults in telling their stories—even in highly vulnerable contexts such as prisons and communities affected by violence. In 2023, she assumed the role of Country Director of ConTextos in El Salvador, where she continues to drive projects that use personal narrative as a tool for transformation and healing. She has trained teachers at various educational levels for more than 15 years in El Salvador, Central America, and Mexico, and is currently active in Central American social sector leadership networks.
